This is a great place to find new titles when you are close to finishing a book too! Soon, Wi-Fi service may be available in some national parks for the first time. What's your opinion?
This week we are ending the read-a-thon. For the read-a-thon we had to see which class reads the most minutes. There was a word of the day. We had to guess what all the words had in common. The winner of the read-a-thon in the fourth grade was Mrs. Parrell's class. The winner of our class was Eveline. Every one who reads in the read-a-thon gets a pencil case. The winner in the 4th grade gets a pizza party!
By Alex and Gavin The Read-A-Thon has begun!
Have you ever tried to do a read-a-thon? In our school we are doing a read-a-thon. If you choose to do a performance you go on stage and get to perform. You add up the minutes you read and the class that reads the most gets a pizza party! The person that reads the most in the class gets a gift card to Button Woods. We each got a book that we chose from a sheet in memory of Mrs. Murphy. We hope you have a fun time reading at the read-a-thon. What is your read-a-thon goal? Eric and Mason Here's what is happening at Deer Hill...
Have you ever "discovered" you're own animal? Well, we have. In science we made paper templates to describe the behavioral and physical adaptations. Then,We made our animals out of clay. After that,we went to th STEM lab and painted our animals. After that, we put googley eyes. After that, we repaired any broken pieces. Finally, we displayed our finished animals in the library. This is what's going on in Deer Hill School. Ali and Noah Are you getting sick of your book? Then come on down to Ms. Mosher's class 132 and we can swap you a mystery book. On Wednesday, it's the book swap and we will each be picking out a book from a blue mystery bag. The best part is that you don't know what book you pick out! Over the long holiday vaction you will have a nice book to read!
P.S. Don't tell anyone what book you brought. HAPPY READING! Olivia & Eveline Have you ever created a fun game to play on a computer? Well at Deerhill we did! In computer class we used the program Hour Of Code. There are many different games we played such as minecraft, lightbot, and Flappy Bird. This week we both played lightbot. There are different levels and each level you have to create a code to move on to the next level. Hour of Code is an exciting game for all students at Deer Hill to play!😃
Zachary and Payton Come one come all the circus is at Deer Hill. If you like to perform then come to Deer Hill to see these amazing performers do fantastic tricks. In school, we are learning awesome tricks like devil sticks, stilts, juggling, and many more tricks. We can not wait for next year because 5th graders get to perform Friday the week after Thanksgiving. This week has been very exciting for the Deer Hill School.
